Family Care Ministries
Family Care Ministries is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to help individuals and families overcome life-controlling problems, which could be, but not limited to, substance, behavioral and co-dependent addictions.
Since 2008, Family Care has been working in the Columbiana County Jail as well as in the community-at-large, offering a variety of classes. Men and women are being taught how to make life-changing decisions so they can overcome life-controlling struggles.
Through the curriculum that is taught in the jail and the community, great results are being seen in the lives of people that we have come in contact with.
Family Care offers "Intensive Training." This includes a 2-3 week training that involves meeting 4 days a week with 6-month follow-up that requires accountability and continued training before publicly receiving a certificate of completion. Training is tailored to the needs of each individual who participates.
Assemblies are held in local schools. "Think About It" is a hard-hitting, high-energy drug prevention presentation designed to educate students on drug and alcohol abuse and the consequences of their choices. The program addresses the Facts, Lies and Costs of addiction.
Family Care is working hard to open Freedom Homes, short-term facilities for those who are seeking help. In our experience, it has become apparent that there are those who want and need to go to a long-term facility. The "Family Care Freedom Homes" will be a place for individuals to begin this process. Family Care also utilizes various faith based long-term options. For people who are not interested in a long-term program, Freedom Homes would serve as a safe place for up to 90 days where life skills as well as spiritual skills would be taught.
